Awarded to Klaus Jung
Under an extraordinary dinner in the occasion of Klaus Jung´s retirement from KHIB (School of Art and Design in Bergen), the newly engaged director of fine art in the Glascow School of Art received the Norsk Sokkel Award 2002.
It is the 2nd time this award has been given out. The first was to "By The Way Gallery" in Bergen. The prize is a private initiative from the artist and is considered to be of symbolic value only:
"There is no money involved just now and I consider it to be more like a performance from my side, giving the prize in public and all, I mean the formal context around the prize-show is meant to ressemble that of film and litterature award shows", says artist Terje Nicolaisen to Euroway Escape.
